I have found a cheap travel insurance that cover medical expenses if I will be injured or sick in Tajikistan. It costs me only 43 Euros for two weeks and is found here
I also found out that for Russia it will be enough for me with a transit visa since I will be in St petersburg for less than 72 hours. So that too should reduce my costs.
World nomads. Much better price than the traditional providers of travel insurance that I have found. I´m glad to hear you´ve found a good insurance and need no Russian visa. I´m SO jealous that you get to see Russia, St. Petersburg have now moved high on my list of places that are a must to see, you can´t have more countried then me you know. :)

Don´t worry, Maria, you will still have visited more countries than me. I have been to 32-34 countries depending on how to count (This is only of academic interest for people like us, who compete in these thing ;) ) and you have been to more I think...
